Newspaper Article about Jacob's Mission

When I last saw this blog, it reached around 49,000 total page views. When I had a look at this post today, it amazes me so much that this blog has reached over 60,000 total page views. I wonder if this blog will ever reach any higher than 65,000 total page views during my mission. I am still waiting for my mission call.

Little did I know, I thought the previous post was the final post because my time was up. I was updating this blog for Jacob during his mission. I stopped posting on this blog since the date of the day when Jacob arrived back to Brisbane. He finished his mission a month ago and time went so fast.

I still remember going to Brisbane Airport, a few detours of getting there just to see Jacob again after 2 years.
It was good seeing him again. Today, Jacob surprised me through Facebook messages and he shared with me
a photo that shows a Newspaper article about his mission. I would like to share that photo with you today.
I don't miss posting on this blog often because I still have been updating Jacob's best friend's blog and the blog is called "Elder J Wehi's Mission Journey." Hopefully this post is the final post and I don't think I will be posting again.

I will have to say my final goodbyes again. I wish you all the best for the future and your future endeavors. Bye.

The Final Post

WARNING: THIS IS THE FINAL POST. Let's Surprise Elder Pinyon for this blog to reach 10,000 total page views before or when he arrives back to Brisbane after 2 years of his mission in Germany.

Hey Readers/Viewers,

My final post would have been on Monday when I updated Elder Pinyon's mission update one last time. I posted one time after that post and posting now because this blog hasn't reached 10,000 total page views. I am trying to get this blog to reach 10,000 total page views before Elder Pinyon arrives back to Brisbane.
There is still HOPE for this blog to reach 10,000 total page views. It shouldn't hurt to read the past blog posts. I wouldn't be tracking Elder Pinyon's flight to Brisbane because I choose not to. It is time for me to say my final goodbyes and wish you all the best for your future.

You can always read my blog and my blog is called, "Hold Onto This Journey" I will be posting so often before I leave for my mission. I also have been updating a blog for Elder Pinyon's Best Friend Elder Wehi during his mission and the blog is called, "Elder Jordan Wehi's Mission Journey."

Heads up, I am still waiting for my mission call. If you have any questions, please email me at thenewjourney1@gmail.com

Thank again so much for taking your time to read/view this blog and especially this final post. It is sad to leave.

Goodbye Readers/Viewers.

Thank you so much for being patient with me whenever you had to wait for next update to be posted.

If you ever asked me a question or questions about Elder Pinyon, thank you so much for asking me. I was happy to answer your question or questions. It is sad to know that there will be no mission photos and no updates from Elder Pinyon for next week. Is this even real? He arrives back to Australia in 2 days.

I know Elder Pinyon's Best Friend Elder Wehi is still on his mission for another 6 months or so. I have been updating a blog for Elder Wehi too with his MTC photos, MTC experiences, his Mission photos and Mission experiences UNTIL I leave for my mission. For the time being, be sure to check out that blog in your own time. Here's the link below,

I hope the remaining of the week will be great for you. Take care and stay safe. My final/last blog post should be posted within the next few days.

Jesus Christ really does love us.

The moment comes to realisation that Elder Pinyon has sent me his last email entry as a full time missionary. It is exciting to know that he will arriving back to Australia this week. Wow! Where did the last 2 years and a bit go? There is still HOPE for this blog to reach 10,000 total page views before Elder Pinyon gets home. There is only very limited days left.

Elder Pinyon has said,

"Jesus Christ really does love you.

Hello my dear Family and Friends,

This here is my last entry as a full time missionary. It brings me tears to know it's my last. I want to thank you all for your help, love and support. Today, I'd love to talk about love and Christlike love.

Is there a difference? What is love? What is Christlike love? Many of these questions have I tried to answer during my mission. Some of them answered and some I am still working on finding the answer. Something that was promised to me, is that I would go on my mission, feel and see the love of God that He has for me and His children and then be able to share the pure love of Christ with others. I know that I have felt the love of God on my mission. More than once and I am truly grateful for the love that He offers me.

John 3:16 says: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

God loves us. There is a hymn in the Music Hymn book from our church. It's called "I Stand all Amazed" (#193). The first and second verse say:

I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me, Confused at the grace that so fully he proffers me.
I tremble to know that for me he was crucified, That for me, a sinner, he suffered, he bled and died.

I marvel that he would descend from his throne divine To rescue a soul so rebellious and proud as mine, That he should extend his great love unto such as I, Sufficient to own, to redeem, and to justify.

Then with a wonderful chorus leading this beautiful hymn:

Oh, it is wonderful that he should care for me Enough to die for me! Oh, it is wonderful, wonderful to me!

This hymn and these words, just sum up my feelings that I feel everyday because of my Saviour, Jesus Christ and His Father, our Heavenly Father, God. I'm truly grateful for the love that God gives
me. I know He cares. He does watch out for us and He wants us to become better.

My favourite scripture in the English holy writ is John 15:13. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

The reason I love this scripture is because it explains everything for me. When I have a problem, when I am stressed, when I feel like someone has done wrong to me, I turn to this scripture and understand that I am a loved child of my Heavenly Father.

Christ is truly there for us and he only wants what's best for us. I know this, because I have seen Him change my life and also the life of many in Germany. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Gods kingdom on Earth and that it is the only church that has a fullness of truth. I know God lives and loves us, every single one of us. He has changed so many lives and will keep on doing that, until His work is complete. I love you all, take care and until next week.

PS. The updates will keep coming, I'll tell you all about my homecoming and about my 30 hour flight home.

Things are really going well in Zwickau

This week's update,

"Hello my dear friends and family,

Things are really going well in Zwickau. I love Zwickau, it is definitely my favourite ward and the people are just so friendly and nice. It's going to be hard next week, to say bye to all these wonderful people that I have met. But it's ok, I'm coming back and I'll see them all again. Our friend Brother Arnold come to church again yesterday.

He is preparing for his baptism on the 12 March. I'm so excited for him. He told me yesterday that after he ate breakfast, that all his power and strength left him. He really wanted to come to church, but Satan had once again attacked. He started vacuuming the house and after that, his strength came back, so he hoped in the car and came to church. One piece of advice, cleaning is good for the soul and will strengthen us. We need to clean our temples, or in other words, our bodies.

When we keep our bodies clean from all sorts of filth, the Lord will bless us with the strength that we need to keep going. The Prophet, Joseph Smith Jr. received a revelation in 1833 called the Word of Wisdom. This is a commandment, that helps us maintain a good health and also helps us to keep a clean body and temple.

As it says in 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are."

We need to keep our temples clean so the Spirit of the Lord can dwell in us. Another way of keeping our temple clean is by not letting in the filth and sleaze of the world. Namely, pornography. This will only destroy you and also your family later on in life. I read a great quote this week that said "porn kills love". That is so true. Don't let your thoughts dwindle within this sleaze, it's not needed. Keep your mind clean and pure and come unto Christ. If you have had problems in the past with any of these things, it's ok, that's why we have a Saviour. He came so we could be forgiven for these mistakes we made, but use His Atonement.

I hope you all have a great week, take care,

If you want to be a master teacher, you must first be a master student

For the past weeks, I have been noticing Elder Pinyon sends me a email either during our conversation or send me directly about the weekly updates. About 3 weeks ago, Elder Pinyon has asked me to stop posting on his Facebook wall about blog updates. As far as I know, Elder Pinyon sends me updates directly because it saves time.

The advantages to that is he gets more time to email other friends, email family and he still gets the time to talk to me via emails. This week's update is short and amazing.

Subject: If you want to be a master teacher, you must first be a master student

Message:

"Nicodemus came unto Christ one night and said to Him "Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God".

What is a great teacher and what is a great student?

A great student is someone who listens and takes council. They are teachable and open for new ideas, so they can try to apply that to their own lives. Great Students are those who seek to learn. Sometimes they don't have the best grades or the best scores at school, but they are those who put in the most effort. Effort is where success is found. If we always give our best, no matter what the outcome may be, God will bless us.

A great teacher is someone who is loving, caring and wants to give. Their passion is to always help their neighbour. We have 2 great teachers, they are:
1. Jesus Christ
2. The Holy Ghost
John 14:26 says the following: but the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall TEACH you all things, and BRING all things to your REMEMBRANCE, whatsoever I have said unto you.

So great teachers, Teach and bring to remembrance.
Our Saviour Jesus Christ did the same as He was speaking with Nicodemus. He taught him about baptism and how a man must be born again. Nicodemus, he was a little confused. Christ helped him understand that we must be born again through the Spirit. That our sins need to be washed away so we can become clean and live with God again.

I hope we all can become teachers from God. That should always be our goal, I know it's one of mine.

I love you all and have a great week

Come unto Christ

"Good morning dear family and friends,

This week has been solid!! Our friend Br. Arnold accepted to be baptised on the 12 March 2016 and on Sunday he came to church and loved it. He has already started smoking less and less and is really  excited for his baptism!!!

In Matthew 14 our Saviour and Redeemer once walked on water unto His disciples and said unto them "Fear not, be of good cheer. It is I". What comforting words, to know that the Saviour will come unto us and tell us to not fear, but that He is coming. Will we be like Peter though?

Peter then cried to the Master, "master if it be thou, bid me onto the water," Peter showed his faith in Lord by asking Him to ask him to come onto the water. To do something that no normal person would do. Would you do the same? Would you ask the Saviour to help you do something that no other human has ever done?

The Master then bided Peter onto the water and as Peter watched Christ and walked unto Him, he feared not, rather remembered the words of the Master "Fear not, be of good cheer, it is I". Peter walking with faith and his full concentration focused on the Saviour walked unto Him on water. Would you trust the Lord enough to do something that no other human has done before?

As Peter then noticed that he was doing something that no other human had ever done before, he feared for his life and starting to loose full focus on the Saviour and started focussing on himself and the World. He then cried out to the Master, "Lord, save me". Peter still knew that Christ was the Master, the Saviour and Redeemer of the World, so he asked Him to save him. With this cry of faith, the Master stretched out His arm and helped Peter back to the boat.

He also added these few words "O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?" The same question I ask to you, wherefore did you doubt? Why do we as humans doubt that the Saviour can keep us safe? Peter knew who the Saviour was and is. He met with Him, ate with Him, listened to His teachings, walked with Him and many more things, yet he still doubted.

Unfortunately, we don't have this opportunity what Peter had to be with the Saviour, but we can surely find out if He is there. We just need to do what Peter did. Cry unto the Lord "if it be thou, bid me to come unto thou." If Christ is really in our lives, cry unto Him in prayer and ask Him to bid you unto Him. He will give you a clear answer that He lives and loves you. He is my Saviour, He is your
Saviour. He gave His life, so we could be able to live in His and our Heavenly Fathers presence once again.

I love you all my family and friends. Come unto Christ and be perfected in Him (Moroni  10:32)

Have a great week.

One of Personal Revelation

Here's this week's update. Elder Pinyon said, "My message for my friends and family this week is one of personal revelation. We should never be scared of praying to God and reading in His scriptures to receive an answer. I'm going to share an experience, that an Apostle of the church once had.

President Romney had an experience in which the Lord gave him a promise similar to Nephi’s. Elder Jeffrey R. Holland of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles spoke about it:

“In 1967 Sister Ida Romney suffered a serious stroke. The doctors told then-Elder Romney that the damage from the hemorrhage was severe. They offered to keep her alive by artificial means but did not recommend it. The family braced for the worst. Brother Romney confided to those closest to him that in spite of his anguished, personal yearning for Ida’s restored health and continued companionship, above all he wanted ‘the Lord’s will to be done and to take what he needed to take without whimpering.’

“As the days wore on, Sister Romney became less responsive. She had, of course, been administered to, but Elder Romney was ‘reluctant to counsel the Lord about the matter.’ Because of his earlier unsuccessful experience of praying that he and Ida might have children, he knew that he could never ask in prayer for something that was not in harmony with the will of the Lord. He fasted that he might know how to show the Lord he had faith and would accept God’s will in their lives. He wanted to make sure he had done all he could do. But she continued to fail.

“One evening in a particularly depressed state, with Ida unable to speak or recognize him, Brother Romney went home and turned, as he always had, to the scriptures in an effort to commune with the Lord. He picked up the Book of Mormon and continued where he had left off the night before. He had been reading in Helaman about the prophet Nephi, who had been falsely accused and unfairly charged with sedition. Following a miraculous deliverance from his accusers, Nephi returned home pondering the things he had experienced. As he did so he heard a voice.

“Although Marion Romney had read that story many times before, it now struck him this night as a personal revelation. The words of the scripture so touched his heart that for the first time in weeks he felt he had tangible peace. It seemed as if the Lord were speaking directly to him. The scripture read: ‘Blessed art thou, … for those things which thou hast done; … thou hast not … sought thine own life, but hast sought my will, and to keep my commandments. And now, because thou hast done this with such unwearyingness, behold, I will bless thee forever; and I will make thee mighty in word and in deed, in faith and in works; yea, even that all things shall be done unto thee according to thy word, for thou shalt not ask that which is contrary to my will.’ (Helaman 10:4–5.)

“There was the answer. He had sought only to know and obey the will of the Lord, and the Lord had spoken. He fell to his knees and poured out his heart, and as he concluded his prayer with the phrase ‘Thy will be done,’ he either felt or actually heard a voice that said, ‘It is not contrary to my will that Ida be healed.’

“Brother Romney rose to his feet quickly. It was past two o’clock in the morning, but he knew what he must do. Quickly he put on his tie and coat, then went out into the night to visit Ida in the hospital. He arrived shortly before three o’clock. His wife’s condition was unchanged. She did not stir as he placed his hands upon her pale forehead. With undeviating faith, he invoked the power of the priesthood in her behalf. He pronounced a simple blessing and then uttered the incredible promise that she would recover her health and her mental powers and would yet perform ‘a great mission’ upon the earth.

“Even though he did not doubt, Elder Romney was astonished to see Ida’s eyes open as he concluded the blessing. Somewhat stunned by all that had happened, he sat down on the edge of the bed only to hear his wife’s frail voice for the first time in months. She said, ‘For goodness’ sake, Marion, what are you doing here?’ He didn’t know whether to laugh or to cry. He said, ‘Ida, how are you?’ With that flash of humor so characteristic of both of them, she replied, ‘Compared to what, Marion? Compared to what?’

“Ida Romney began her recovery from that very moment, soon left her hospital bed, and lived to see her husband sustained as a member of the First Presidency of the Church, ‘a great mission upon the earth’ indeed".

This is an amazing story. Let us all learn from it and become worthy to learn what we must learn from our Heavenly Father. He is ready to bless us with the revelation needed, we must just open our mouths and ask for it :)

Have a wonderful and fabulous week.

Happy Australia DAY!!!

A friendly reminder it is myself Megan Green who has been updating this blog.
Here is what Elder Pinyon has said for this week's update.

"Hello dear friends and family,

First and foremost: Aussie Aussie Aussie, Oi Oi Oi

Wow, what an amazing week that I got to experience in Freiberg and everywhere else. It was truly amazing to be on the temple square in Freiberg and to be able to feel the love of God, just to know that the Temple is truly the house of the Lord!!! I'm so very grateful that we have temples, that we can use, so that we can go in there and make further covenants with our Heavenly Father and to be able to be sealed to our Families for eternity!!!

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to give a lesson with a member in Priesthood meeting. Our lesson was about self reliance. We based it around 3 Questions:
1. What does the Gospel mean to me?
2. What helps me to feel the love of God?
3. How can I share this with others?

Question number one
The first thing that we made clear is that the Gospel, should make one happy and bring joy and peace into our lives. The Gospel is everything to me, without the Gospel, I wouldn't be able to become perfect and I wouldn't be able to live with my family again in the eternities. The Gospel is the Atonement of Jesus Christ, without it, we wouldn't be able to make any progress in this life, nor live with our loving Heavenly Father again. My dear friends and family, I invite you to find more out about the Gospel and what it has to offer for you. I can promise you that it'll bring you only joy and peace in your life. It is the one thing that we need.

Question number two
What is the love of God?
There is a story of Prophet that has a vision of a Tree, this tree is called the Tree of Life. Upon this tree are white fruits, that when one would eat it, the person would receive eternal life. Before anyone could get to this tree, there was a small passage or path that one needed to travel along, before getting to the tree. Along the path there was also an iron rod, which led to the tree, which would guide the people to the tree.

The Iron rod, represents the Word of God, or the scriptures that we can search so we can come closer and closer to God. Just like holding onto the rod and taking step for step, we get closer to the tree.
The small and narrow path/passage represents the way that we need to take, but there will be trials and things that'll try and get you off the path, so that you can be dragged away from God.
The fruit on the tree represents the eternal life that we get when we accept God and act upon His words in our life.

The tree represents the LOVE OF GOD. The Love of God comes after the trial of our faith. A Book of Mormon Prophet, named Moroni, once said in Ether 12:6 "And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things; I would show unto the world that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen; wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith." God LOVES you, never doubt it. He is there to help you whenever you need Him.

The Love of God is the feelings that you get when you just feel so overwhelmed or when you feel like your being loved, but you don't know who is loving you. God loves us all. I know that without any doubts!

Question number three
If we know that the Gospel brings us joy and the love of God truly is there, what is stopping us from sharing this wonderful message. What stops us from being there for our friends to invite them to come unto Christ and to accept His Gospel, so they can be saved just like we will be saved at the last day.

MY DEAR FRIENDS, God is there! He loves you! He loves you so much that He sent His only begotten Son (Jesus Christ) to suffer, so that we could become perfect and be able to live with Him again.

I only want you to know this, because of the joy and peace it brings me, but also because you are my friends. Come unto Christ and become perfected in Him. I invite you all.

I hope you have a great week and take care,

Elder Pinyon"

If at first you don't succeed

I love chatting back and forth with Elder Pinyon.

Here's the week's update. He said, "Good morning dear friends and family,

You're all probably wondering what does my subject mean, "if at first you don't succeed." I'll get to that later :)

On Saturday we got our transfer calls. This was my most nervous one, where would I serve for my last 6 weeks. Do I get to stay in the ward I love, or do I go somewhere else? Well I am happy to say that I am staying (I'm the only one staying out of the 4 missionaries here, so the one Australian won against the 3 Americans) What sad is, is that my son is leaving me. I'm going to miss Elder Green. I love him so much and I'm excited to see his success throughout his mission. My new companion will be........ I don't know yet actually, I'm training again for the last 6 weeks!! I am super excited. I love training new missionaries.

Saturday night, we made Rouladen, so I am really happy I know how to make this yummy dinner now. So now I can do it in Australia and hopefully it turns out ok when I try it haha. It tasted good and we all lived, so we didn't die, haha. Last night, the bishop invited us over and we had Raclette with him and his wife. I really hope I can find a Raclette in Australia, I'm gunna need one. They are so yummy.

Oh it's been snowing here for the last 2 days too, so we have about 6-8cm of snow all over the place. It's so pretty. It's been my dream to see something like this and now, I can check that off the list :)
here is a pic of the church before we plowed it yesterday before church. It is just so magical and pretty."
The other photo of the snow is under "Mission Photos" section on this blog. Be sure to check it out.

Das Gebet/The Prayer

This week's email was very powerful and it got me thinking a lot.
I hope it gets this email gets you thinking a lot too.

This is what he said,

"Hey hey,

Prayer, what a wonderful tool and commandment that God has given to us. Not just for him, but also for us. We can communicate with God through Jesus Christ and He will answer us through the Holy Ghost.

Imagine this, all you parents will have a better time, then the kids.

First case scenario:
You come home and you don't talk to your parents. Your parents will feel neglected, they will want to talk with you, but you just ignore them. You have no desire to talk with them and they miss you because all they want is the best for you.

Second case scenario:
You come home and your parents ask you a question and everyday, you give the same answer. Without error, you say "it was good, I dug a hole, I played in the playground and I made a new friend,". You say this everyday for your whole entire life.

What do these scenarios have to do with prayer, well let's analyse them.

Number 1: God has said more then enough times through His prophets, that we are to pray to Him and to give Him thanks. Sometimes, we ignore God. Why? Maybe we had a bad day or maybe we are just to lazy to get on our knees and to pray. But why do these things cause distractions from prayers with our Heavenly Father.

My brothers and sisters, the devil, good old Satan is the father of all lies and will discourage you everyday and in every moment to pray. 2 Nephi 32:8-9 "for the evil spirit teacheth not a man to pray, but teacheth him that he must not pray. 9 But behold, I say unto you that ye must pray always, and not faint;"

Number 2: God has asked us, that we tell Him our feelings, our thoughts, our worries, our joys, our happiness, our questions, our everything. How does this work, if we just say the same thing everyday
and every night? It doesn't. Don't get stuck in repetitions. We don't need that and God doesn't need that, He loves you and cares about you. He wants to know how He can help you and what your plans are to help yourself. Matthew 6:7 "but when Ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do,"

I have one tip, this tip, I have started using and it works. If you don't want to pray to God or if you are having a bad day or you are angry or any bad feelings, START praying. Pray until you can't pray
anymore. God will heal you! His Son suffered for a reason and the reason is YOU! Prayer will always help, I love you and I know that your Father in Heaven loves you.

Have a great week,

Elder Pinyon

Another Week in Zwickau + Happy New Year

I received no emails from Elder Pinyon last week which means no updates for the blog last week.
I am sorry for not posting last week. However since Christmas Season is over, I changed the looks of this blog.
I hoped everyone had a wonderful New Years Eve and New Years Day. The only one photo is uploaded on Facebook under "MTC & Mission Photos" and posted on this blog under "Mission Photos" section.

This is what Elder Pinyon said for this week's email,

"So another week in paradise is gone by. I really love Zwickau, it is the best ward and the best place to be. The members love us and the bishop loves us too. I really like being loved, it's such a nice
feeling. Well I want to wish you all a happy new year! I hope you all had a good slide into the new year (that's what we say in German).

On Tuesday we went bowling with the ward and it was so much fun. Elder Green, was ripping it up. He got a 153 game and I got a 137 game. It was a lot of fun to be with the ward and to have fun.

We had a lot of fun during the New Years time. We all went to Leipzig for the New Years run. It's a 3km run, that anyone can do, so our Mission President asked us all to be a part of it. It was a lot of fun and really worth it. Got to see a lot of my mission friends. It was really weird, because I was thinking, this might be the last time that I actually get to see everyone.

I'm not to excited about leaving Germany, I really love this place, it is practically my home now, but it's ok. I'm definitely coming back! I never really thought that Germany would be a place that would grow on me, but it did, especially the people. The language is no longer a problem, communicating with everyone is not a problem.

Another year is now on the way, I'm super excited for 2016, this year is going to be awesome! I hope that y'all have a lot of good plans and goals made, so that y'all can achieve something great. Always having a vision is very important. Visions is what make goals achievable.

Thank you all for being so awesome and supporting me as a missionary. Ideally appreciate everything you do. Have a great week and a great new year and take care,

Elder Jacob Pinyon"
